Day Two

Not a lot happening today. The tiredness already setting in, and most of that was due to our rickety old house that does not hold up under windy conditions. I was able to get about a full half of an hour sleep all together last night, so waking up this morning was a bit painful, but I am looking forward to hitting the sack in a few minutes.
As I write I am enjoying my first glass of wine during student teaching, and there is no question that there will be many nights that are ended with a great glass of merlot. That being said, it was not as if I had a rough day but I figure that if I only drink when I have a bad day people may start to wonder....;)
I met my kindergarten class for the first time this afternoon, and love them already! They are just adorable. They too were given a chance to ask questions about me, and I was prepared to give the usual answers except they through some curve balls to me. "Is your house close to the water?" "Do you know my dad?" and my personal favorite was the girl who looked at me and whispered "Do you have a pool?" Haha, have to love how their minds work. I think that being with the kindergarten class made me more excited about having kids some day than teaching kids their age some day. As of now, I am still partial to secondary, but I was told to never say never. (and no that is not  Justin Bieber reference). As they were lining up to leave one of the kindergarteners saw my tennis shoes and gasped. "Can your shoes jump?!". Of course they can! So I proceeded to jump, then before I knew it, it turned into a game of jump with Ms. Pauluhn. Who knew it could be that simple. Ha.
Probably my other favorite happening of the day was during first grade I believe. As they were moving to their places to begin running their laps, one of the girls came up and did the shirt tug. With a frantic and concerned look in her eyes this is what she proceeded to tell me, "Ms. Pauluhn. Um....um.....umm...The chips, the chips at lunch today. They were bad. All of them!! They were all expired!" Haha, I was not sure what to say back to that, what I wish I could have said was "Well hope you didn't eat them, because that would mean some bad news..." But this was definitely not the student to be joking around with. So I am pretty sure I sent her on her way with just an "Ohhh" I hope those chips don't take my classes out for a week, haha.
Not a super enthralling day, but I know they will not always be. The little stories are the things that are going to keep me going, so I hope they do not bore you. Good night everyone and God's Blessings.
